South Korea is actively preparing for the 2018 Games, as we mentioned in our previous article. The Mountain cluster and the Coastal Cluster were chosen to be the two major poles of the competition. Today is the question of the accessibility of places. The country is deploying the means to easily link these two poles.

PYEONGCHANG 2018: a new TGV for the 2018 Games

A new high-speed train, inspired by the French TGV, will soon link Seoul to Pyeongchang. The KTX-Highspeed, designed to facilitate access to the various venues of the competition in 2018, will also provide an unchanged connection to the western Incheon International Airport, as well as the city of Gangneug, located on The East Coast and the heart of the Coastal Cluster.

This new train will eventually reduce the transport time between Pyeongchang and the international airport by almost 04:00. Indeed, the crossing of the country should be done in a little more than 02 h 00, and connect the capital with the mountain cluster in 01 h 30: a real advantage for the time of the Games 2018 and for the development of the transports Koreans.

PYEONGCHANG 2018: great resources for the 2018 Games

In February 2018, there will be no fewer than 10 trains of 15 cars, inspired by the French TGV network, which will crisscross the Wongang line to 300 km.

This innovation will undoubtedly bring a new attraction to this hitherto difficult region of access.
