With no less than 32 teams involved, the aptly named Basketball World Cup in China is sure to deliver its load of thrilling battles. Despite the absences of LeBron James and Kevin Durant, the United States are expected to become the first team in history to complete the FIBA “three-peat” (that is, win three championships in a row), following their success in 2010 and 2014. The international competition is tightening, however, as evidenced by the fact that four of the major trophies of the NBA season went to non-Americans: the MVP trophy (Most Valuable Player) was awarded to Greek forward Giannis Antetokounmpo; the MIP (Most-Improved Player) was bestowed upon Cameroonian sensation Pascal Siakam, and the young Slovenian phenomenon Luka Doncic has been voted the best Rookie of the Year. As for France, it has the honor to be represented by Rudy Gobert, holder of the title of best defender of the year for the second season in a row, and certainly the new face of a tricolor team now deprived of young retirees Tony Parker and Boris Diaw.
VPI will support you during the competition from 31st of August until 15th of September 2019, contact us.
