Never in the history of major sporting events has the international calendar been so focused on a single country.
No less than 3 world events will take place in France over the period:
– The Alpine Skiing World Championships in Méribel-Courchevel from February 6th to 19th, 2023
– The Rugby World Cup from September 8th to October 28th, 2023
– The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris from July 26th to September 8th, 2024
This sequence is reminiscent of the recent calendar in Japan, with the Rugby World Cup in 2019 and then the Olympic Games scheduled in Tokyo for the summer of 2020 but postponed to 2021.
Let’s hope that these events, which are expected to be huge sporting and popular events, can take place in optimal conditions.
